Acne Scarring

Real textural improvement for the scars acne left behind — through the right combination of lasers, microneedling, and peels.

01

Different scars need different treatments.

Acne scars fall into a few distinct categories, and the difference matters: atrophic scars (indented) include ice-pick, boxcar, and rolling types, each with its own shape and depth. Hypertrophic scars are raised. And post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — the brown or purplish marks left after a breakout — isn't actually a scar at all, just lingering pigment.

PIH usually resolves with the right peel or laser series. True scarring requires remodelling of the collagen architecture beneath the skin — which is a different conversation, and a different toolkit.

02

Realistic expectations.

Honest answer: we can dramatically improve the appearance of acne scarring, but no non-surgical treatment removes deep scars completely. What we can do is soften their edges, lift their depressions, and improve the overall light reflection of the skin so they read as far less prominent.

Most patients achieve a 50% to 80% visible improvement over a properly planned series — typically combining a resurfacing laser, RF microneedling, and supportive peels. The plan is built around the type and depth of your particular scars.

The consultation

What to expect when you come in.

We start with a close skin analysis — identifying the type, depth, and pattern of your scars and reviewing whether your active acne is fully controlled. Treating scars while breakouts continue is rarely productive.

From there we plan a series, usually over six to nine months, combining one or two anchor resurfacing treatments with microneedling and peels in between.

We set expectations clearly at the consultation — what's achievable, on what timeline, and what isn't realistic without surgical revision. Honest framing up front is part of how we work.
