How Fraxel® MENDS works

What it is

Fraxel® resurfaces the texture that lines and scars sit in. A fractional laser creates thousands of microscopic columns of treated tissue, leaving the surrounding skin intact so it heals fast and seeds new collagen across the treated area.

It's the workhorse for sun damage, fine lines, and acne scarring when you want meaningful change without the downtime of a fully ablative laser.

Is it for you?

A fit for you if…

  • A decade or more of accumulated sun damage
  • Fine lines and surface texture irregularities
  • Atrophic acne scarring, layered with other modalities

We'd recommend something else if…

  • Active acne breakouts, eczema, or open lesions in the treatment area
  • Recent sun exposure, tan, or use of isotretinoin within the past 6 months
  • Pregnancy, or history of keloid scarring

FAQ

  • How many sessions?

Two to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, depending on starting condition and treatment depth.

  • Will I peel?

Yes — light flaking from day 3 to 5 is normal. Skin underneath is fresh and smoother.

  • Is it safe for darker skin tones?

Yes, with appropriate setting selection. We pre-treat carefully to reduce risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.
